MIYAVI experience November 8, 2011 @Trees in Dallas

So I finally got to see Miyavi live! OMG it was fucking amazing! He was the perfect first concert ^^v
I still feel bad I missed him last year for dumb reasons >.> but all in all it just built my anticipation for this concert.

So my friends Kimber, Starbear and I went together. These are friends that I acutally met online through our common interests. Kimber and I met through a Miyavi ustream, where we chatted and kept in touch. And Starbear, I believe, I met through Kimber.

So that day we woke up and got ready, then headed out to find the venue since none of us had ever been there before. I was totally feeling weird to my stomach I was so nervous and excited, it wasn't even concert time. So we found the venue, I wanna say a little after 1p.m  there were a few people in line (less than 10) and of course Miyavi was there in his bus <3 <3  -insert fangirl squee-

Well we parked in the venue's parking lot (which apparently we weren't supposed to since it didn't open to concert goers til 6pm but the super nice parking guy said he'd let us off and told us where to park and let the staff know so we wouldn't get towed . ^^b yay big points to that guy, you're the man!

After that we took some pics, and headed for some grub because we were starving. We ended up going to this pizza place that was right across from the parking lot, since we didn't want to wander too far. We took our orders and found a seat, then started to vandalize the table (okay yes I know vandalism is bad, but there were so many carvings on the table and I wanted to make a memento for when we come back in the future, and yes I know its a little cheesy but it's what movies have taught me). But, what's this, who do we see while waiting for our food, BoBo (in pants) and some staff heading for sushi, "Damn it, we should have gone for sushi!!!" >.<

After lunch, did our little potty break (which I was kinda not happy about since I don't like toilets in general, blame growing up in New Orleans during Mardi Gras season, but when you gotta go you gotta go) thank goodness the bathroom was slightly decent (even though it ran out of toilet paper later on). Then off to get back in line woot woot! Anywho, we just hung out and talked with a few people and watched staff go in and out of the bus. Also, I finally got to meet Kat, someone I've talked to on twitter and tumblr. ^^v even met Kat and Star's friend Fred. Then we chatted and took pictures.

Let's see, what else......oh yeah so we got bored, and I went to the car to get my iPod and bomb speaker (totally cute and powerful ;] )...I already had it set on just Miyavi, because I figured why not have a Miyavi marathon to get me geared up for the concert. So I hooked up the speaker to my iPod and we all jammed to his music (that is until it died, gahh why didn't I bring my charger T^T), but not even 3 songs later guess who came off the bus...the great man himself MIYAVI. Now let me tell you something, I had been waiting for this moment so I could get a picture but a reflex of mine decided to kick in...oh don't worry nothing bad or crazy..see I'm around my nephews a lot because I babysit them and stuff and I'm so used to them blowing me kisses and doing it back...hence, when Miyavi stepped of that bus and blew a kiss, instead of getting a pic, I blew one back. Yes I know *facepalm*

Anyway time to move on. After awhile the line started to grow, and the anticipation kept on building so during this time we were devising a game plan, you know who was going to grab a spot by the stage and who was going to the merch table, you know the usual. At some point decided on another bathroom break (what can I say I was staying hydrated)and to grab a brownie, then met Kimber by the car since she was charging her phone. We hung out while it charged and listened to Jrock. The brownie was awful by the way. bleh *shiver*...anyway someone else drove in the parking lot, and we told them they weren't supposed to park here but we told them to look for our parking guy...didn't find him but some other guy came and told us the "Can't park here..." stuff, but in the end he let them stay. So we chatted with the girls and then they came and joined us in line, they actually drove up to see Miyavi again after seeing him the night before. so we talked about the concert and the Meet-and-Greet..and what was selling at the merch table. At some point we just moved around to topics like: movies, k-pop, j-rock, etc. There were also two girls who had been sitting by me in line since earlier that night, we didn't talk much, but who would have thought fate would bring us together again in the future ^^ (see to post Dir en Grey experience).

Finally, after rehearsals and long line waiting, it is time for the concert. I believe the doors opened about 8pm. Kimber and I headed to merch while Star and friends went to save a spot. Just so happens the Merch dude had a deal that night "free poster with purchase of shirt or hoodie" so when I bought my stuff he put 3 posters on the table and seeing there was two people behind me I figured only one was for me..come to find out all 3 posters were for me *major facepalm* didn't find this out until later that night. We ended up right in front of the stage (well on the right side). As we waited everyone seemed to be singing along to the radio that was playing in the club. It was really fun.

Show Time everyone! The Commotion was our opening band, they were quite good, and they got us riled up and ready for MYV. Might I say I loved his opening kyaaa *fangirl squee* I have a picture somewhere. When I find it, I'll add it to this post. I took a few pictures, but only a few came out well. Apparently my camera and my phone suck at taking pics >.> .....but Kimber took a few good ones. ^^

He played his new songs, and about half way through he took request for old songs. ^^v It was so great. The crowd was great too. Everyone jammed and sang along to his songs, it was an amazing night. I was so mesmerized by his stage presence. I will forever remember that night. And whoever caught his shirt during his encore is one super lucky person ^^

Finally it was over, and those with V.I.P got in line. OMG I was so nervous and excited. I seriously had no idea how I was going to react when I met him. I seriously had a feeling I'd break out in tears, but about halfway in line I busted into the giggles and had this huge grin on my face.  When it was finally my turn, I gave him my gift and he said "For me?", I nodded yes. As I went in for a hug I stepped on his foot. Nice going Katie nice going, did I want to die then and there, yes I did. But, I quickly apologized and you know what he did, he said "It's okay it happens all the time." then he smiled. I swear that man is a fricking angel. OMG! he was so sweet about it. Miyavi-san I shall continue to support you til the ends of time. So after his assistant took our picture, I got another hug ;) oh yeah (btw he smells nice)...then he said he would come back, to which I replied "I'll be waiting." then I giddily rabbit hopped to Kimber. Yeah I really don't know why I did that, but I did. Sometimes I really have no control of what I do smh. While I was doing that Star was getting her pic taken and then the assistant called Kimber and I back, to let us have a group shot. Bless that sweet lady!

Then we started to head out when I realized I hadn't grabbed my poster and guitar pics from the meet and greet, luckily we only made it downstairs when I realized this. So we went back I went and received my items.

Voila! my proof of the night. I still keep pinching myself as if it was just a dream. kyaaa
-will insert picture here soon-
we were also able to get a group shot because we be lucky! ^^

All in all, it was an excellent night with awesome people, and the Samurai Guitarist himself. If you ever get the chance to see Miyavi live, I highly recommend it.

After such an event, we went and got our grub on. ^^ in a ghost town IHOP (okay, there weren't any ghosts, but there was no one there except a couple staff.) When we walked in, there was no one in sight. So we kinda just stood in that little wait area discussing what we should do. Of course, I pulled something you totally shouldn't do in horror movies, and said "Hello?" then we heard a voice "I'll be right there!" kekeke it was funny. Then Ms. Vicki came out, told us we could have just sat down. Then she said we could pick a table. We chatted with her a bit. Told her about the concert. We even took a picture with her. ^^
also, the hashbrown that came with my omelette was the shape of a heart. So Ms. V said it was a special hashbrown from MYV. hahahaha that lady was cool. perhaps we'll see her again

(I'll add pic of my merch soon)
